ABC assessment and first aid saved a life
In October 2024, while working a shift at her scheduled location, Security Officer Jasika Kathuria was made aware of a male who was lying in the men’s washroom, unresponsive.
Upon arrival on scene, Officer Kathuria conducted an ABC assessment and instructed a bystander to call 911. At the request of the 911 operator, Officer Kathuria began providing CPR via chest compressions to the man, who, after a few minutes, began to respond and spoke with the security team.
Paramedics conducted an assessment of the man, who refused any further treatment but was able to leave the property under his own power.
