Relational security finds a missing patient

In the fall of 2023, Kelowna General Hospital Relational Security Officer Barry Rhodes was dispatched to find a missing patient.

Officer Rhodes discovered the man near a main entrance, lying on the ground. He was pale, with blue lips, and was unresponsive. Officer Rhodes began chest compressions, continuing for two minutes until the man had a pulse.

Emergency Health Services arrived shortly thereafter and administered Narcan, and thanks to Officer Rhodes’ prompt actions, the man survived.

Thank you, Officer Rhodes, for your quick thinking and lifesaving efforts!
