Saving three lives
Security Guard Tajinder Bassi, Site Supervior Manheevan Singh and Security Guard Kyle Bolwell were escorting a person off a client’s property when they noticed three unhoused people, apparently passed out.
The first man was flopped over a cement barrier with his eyes open, not breathing and turning blue, without a pulse. A second man was a few feet away, hunched over, also not breathing and turning blue. A third male was discovered about 20 feet away, conscious but slipping into an overdose. It was obvious that the three men had used a bad batch of narcotics.
Bassi and Singh immediately took control of the situation, giving Naloxone to the first man while Bolwell woke up the other two. All three men ultimately regained consciousness.
Bassi’s nominator says: “I’m nominating him because I’ve personally witnessed him deal with multiple medical incidents where he’s served with respect and logic in every situation – even circumstances outside of medicals when people are not so nice. The man that received Naloxone, for example, became aggressive with him even though he’d just saved his life.”
Thank you, Security Officer Bassi, for continuing to be so devoted to your community!
