Immediately stopped a fire
While on duty, Security Guard Sarfraz Singh observed kitchen staff escorting a tenant out of the building in an aggressive and urgent manner. Looking closer, Sarfraz noticed that the tenant’s pants were on fire.
The tenant had been smoking a cigarette and accidentally tossed the butt onto their pants, unknowingly setting them on fire. He then walked toward the elevator, unaware of the fire, until kitchen staff noticed and intervened.
Sarfraz immediately stopped the fire by using his personal water bottle to extinguish the flames on the tenant’s clothing. He then called 911 and reported the incident in full detail until security services arrived to ensure there were no further fire hazards. He then oversaw the restoration of the fire alarm and elevator systems, and began an hourly fire watch until the alarm system was reset.
