Overdose at retail location
Security Guard Gurjot Cheema received a call from a store where he was working, alerting him to two persons in distress by the entrance.
Arriving on scene, Cheema discovered one man laying flat on the ground, not breathing and with hands turning purple. Near him was another man who was also on the ground, yelling and screaming.
Finding that the first man was non-responsive, Cheema administered a first dose of Narcan. When that did not revive the man, he administered a second dose. Unfortunately, the second dose also did not revive the man, so Cheema managed to get the man into a suitable position for CPR and began compressions. The man started to move, but still wasn’t breathing, so Cheema administered a third dose of Narcan, which revived the man.
Shortly thereafter, EMS arrived and took over the scene, and the man recovered.
