Security team mobilized to save a life

Security Supervisor Isai Lopez was in the Security Operations Centre (SOC) when advised by SOC Operator Rahul Kumar that there was an individual lying on the floor inside a stairwell.

Shift Supervisor Nathaniel McNeil and Security Guard Manmohan Singh immediately attended the location, where they found a woman who was unconscious, but who had a regular breathing pattern. SOC Operator Kumar advised that, on the CCTV footage, she had been observed injecting herself with a substance and had then lost consciousness.

Suspecting an overdose, SOC Operator Kumar immediately called EMS and the team administered three doses of Naloxone.

The woman regained consciousness but was clearly in a panicked state. The team calmly introduced themselves as security, and told her where she was and that she had been found unconscious but that EMS had been called. The woman indicated that she had injected herself with fentanyl and that she was a regular user of the drug.

When EMS arrived, she was transported to the hospital, where she was understood to recover.

Thank you to the team, for your quick response and calm handling of the situation!
