Healthcare security in difficult situations
Paladin Security Guard Travis Perkins arrived on-site to a healthcare facility prior to his shift and suddenly heard someone banging on exterior doors.
When PSG Perkins went to investigate, he discovered a man wearing only a pair of pyjama pants and a pair of shoes, banging on the doors of the hospital looking for help, weaving unsteadily on his feet. Even worse, the weather had been -6 degrees for some time, meaning the man was at risk of exposure or hypothermia.
PSG Perkins immediately helped the man into the hospital, and ensured that he received critical medical attention for hypothermia and other conditions, including a concussion.
Thanks to PSG Perkins’ attention to his surroundings even when he wasn’t yet ‘officially’ on duty, the man got the prompt, empathetic care he deserved.
