Professionalism, accountability and compassion
In the early morning hours, following an earlier ejection of an individual consuming a smokeable narcotic in the park, Security Guards Jordan Lobell and Sarah West were notified by bystanders that the same individual had collapsed on the LRT platform and appeared to be unresponsive.
Observing that the individual was blue and not breathing, Security Guard Lobell promptly activated the emergency button on the platform and contacted EMS, while Security Guard West remained calm, gathered information from witnesses and secured key details for the report.
Demonstrating courage and quick thinking, Lobell began CPR with the assistance of a bystander while EMS was en route. West ensured the scene was well documented, collecting witness names and response vehicle numbers. Upon arrival, EMS took over CPR and revived the individual after several critical minutes.
Lobell and West provided additional reassurance and support, helping to convince the revived individual to accept medical assistance.
Their coordinated response, composure under pressure, and commitment to public safety contributed to saving a life.
Thank you, Security Guards Lobell and West, for your professionalism, accountability and compassion!
