Lifesaving actions on a college campus

In April 2025, at the campus of a college in the Toronto area, Security Guard Vettori Farquharson discovered an individual lying in a noise cancellation booth of one of the college buildings. The man was barely conscious and incoherent.

Farquharson immediately informed the security team and, shortly afterwards, Emergency Medical Responder Ryan Ancog arrived on scene and moved the man to the recovery position. EMS was contacted. After assessing the situation, EMR Ancog administered a dose of Naloxone. When the man remained unresponsive, a second dose of Naloxone was administered.

By the time Toronto Fire Services and EMS arrived to the scene, the man regained consciousness and was transported to hospital.

Thank you, Security Guard Farquharson and EMR Ancog, for your attention to duty, quick actions, and lifesaving efforts!
