Lifesaving assistance in downtown Toronto

In May 2025, while on exterior patrol, Security Guard Abubaker Ebrahim observed a man lying on the sidewalk. The man was unresponsive, with his eyes closed and shallow breathing. Ebrahim noted that his chest was not moving up and down at a regular pace. He recognized the signs as an overdose and requested backup and EMS.

Attending to the call were Security Guards Harpreet Singh, Adeoye Adedulopo and Jordan Bennett, who carried the trauma bag. They attempted to rouse the man, but he remained unresponsive. After placing the man in the recovery position, Singh administered a dose of Naloxone. With no signs of improvement, Bennett administered a second dose as Adedulopo began CPR. Finally, a third dose of Naloxone was administered, after which the man regained consciousness.

At that time, both Toronto Fire and EMS arrived on scene to take the man to hospital, and thanked the security team for their assistance.

We thank you, too!
