CPR and Narcan saved a life
Responding to a wellness check call, Security Officer Sukhpreet Kaur noticed a male lying on the ground. Upon further investigation, he determined that the man was suffering from an apparent overdose.
Security Officer Kaur instructed Security Officer Jasleen Dhaliwal to contact 911 and requested other units to attend the scene with the first aid kit.
While waiting for the first aid kit to arrive, Kaur began providing CPR compressions to the victim, while an off-duty nurse who was passing by assisted with a Narcan injection. CPR was continued until other security officers arrived with the first aid kit, at which time two more doses of Narcan were administered, and CPR was resumed until the man regained consciousness.
Paramedics attended the scene and evaluated the man, who refused any further medical assistance and left the site of his own accord.
