Finding a missing person in a mental health crisis
In April 2025, just before midnight, an individual was reported to security as missing by their family.
A thorough investigation showed that the individual was not where they’d told their family they’d be, and they weren’t responding to their cellphone when called. This was extremely abnormal behaviour for the individual and a search turned up letters directing the individual’s assets to be given away, which led to concern for the individual’s mental health and worries that the individual might try to self harm.
By engaging with the RCMP early in the process, and working with the family, Security Guard Mirjam Richardson was able to provide critical information that led to the whereabouts of the individual.
Following the incident, the family followed up with the security team, thanking them for their timely assistance, without which they likely would never have been able to find their family member and provide them with the assistance they needed.
Thank you, Security Guard Richardson!
