Treatment of an overdose in a retail centre
While on duty at a retail centre, Shift Supervisor Indraj Dhaliwal was made aware of an unresponsive male inside the men’s washroom.
Responding promptly to the scene, he determined that the man was suffering from an apparent overdose (there was drug paraphernalia on the ground nearby) and that the man had no pulse.
Acting quickly, Supervisor Dhaliwal immediately requested 911 be contacted, and began administering CPR to the man. Paramedics arrived on the scene and took over care of the man, who was resuscitated and transported to the hospital for further medical evaluation.
Paramedics indicated that without Supervisor Dhaliwal’s prompt action, the man might have lost his life.
