Immediate intervention in an overdose saved a life
In March 2024, Officer Shayne Vogt noticed a male in distress in the retail store where he was on duty, and inquired if assistance was required. The man indicated that his friend, who was just outside the store, was experiencing an overdose.
Officer Vogt immediately recognized the severity of the situation and attended the scene, where he determined that the man was indeed overdosing. He swiftly administered Naloxone and began CPR. The man remained unconscious, so Officer Vogt administered a second dose of Naloxone and restarted CPR.
Ultimately, the man regained consciousness and was carefully placed in the recovery position. Officer Vogt monitored the man until paramedics arrived and were able to take over.
Thank you, Officer Vogt!
