Administration of Naloxone made a real difference

During a routine patrol, Security Guard Joas Mwesige reported an individual who was found unconscious, lying on the floor near the food court.

Shift Supervisor Natneal Amsalu and Security Guard Dillon Pierson immediately attended the location and sprang into action. They attempted to rouse the individual, but he was unresponsive and had a weak breathing pattern. They notified EMS and then administered Naloxone, though without success.

They were told by 911 dispatch to wait one minute and then administer a second dose of Naloxone. This dose did rouse the individual, and the team stayed to help them until EMS arrived shortly thereafter to transport the person to hospital.

Thank you for some great teamwork!
