Brave rescue in the face of fire
In January 2025, Security Concierge Loveraj Singh was on duty in a condominium building when he recieved a call from a resident indicating their could hear a smoke alarm coming from an adjacent unit.
Singh quickly made his way to the 7th floor, equipped with the suite master key. When he arrived at the 7th floor, he discovered that the hallway was filled with the smell of smoke. He made his way to the suite that the alarm noise was coming from. He did not receive a response to his knock on the door, but could hear faint sounds of coughing coming from inside, so he entered the suite.
Once inside, he saw an elderly woman lying unconscious on the floor, as well as visible flames on the floor about 8 feet away.
Singh quickly pulled the woman to safety in the hallway, and then closed the door behind him to ensure the fire was contained within the suite.
Shortly thereafter, Mississauga Fire, Peel Regional Emergency Medical Services and Peel Regional Police arrived on site and took control of the scene, eventually putting out the fire.
Thanks to Security Concierge Singh’s training on fire procedures, a serious tragedy was averted. Thank you, SC Singh!
