Confident response saved a life
While patrolling the Midland Public Library in Midland, Ontario, Security Guard Lucas Dewar discovered a female patron unconscious on the floor.
Upon further inspection, Security Guard Dewar observed that the woman’s breathing was very shallow and her lips had turned purple. After failing to rouse her, Security Guard Dewar administered a first dose of Naloxone, and then a second. The second dose succeeded in waking the woman up.
When paramedics arrived on scene, they advised that, in all likelihood, Security Guard Dewar’s actions saved the woman’s life.
Thank you, Security Guard Dewar!
