Lifesaving assistance at the airport
While on duty at the Prince George Airport in British Columbia, Security Officer Bhavesh Aggarwal saved the life of an elderly lady who had passed out and fallen on the tarmac.
Upon observing the woman’s fall, and with the help of her husband, Aggarwal placed her in a supine position and checked for signs of consciousness. That’s when he discovered that she was bleeding from her forehead and was not breathing.
Officer Aggarwal immediately radioed his supervisor to request emergency services, and then used his OFA2 training to quickly check for breathing. When he re-confirmed that the woman was not breathing, he immediately began CPR and requested that a medical kit be brought to the scene. He performed four cycles of CPR before further assistance arrived.
The woman eventually showed signs of breathing and was handed over to emergency crews.
Thank you, Officer Aggarwal, for providing effective first aid in a difficult, outdoors environment!
