Lifesaving CPR in a moment of crisis
While conducting his regular patrols at SouthCentre Mall in Calgary, Officer Zakaria was asked to respond to an event.
Upon his arrival, he quickly determined that the individual was overdosing. Calmly, but quickly, he asked his partner to call 911 and started performing CPR on the individual until paramedics arrived.
The individual safely returned to consciousness and was able to communicate with the paramedics when they came on scene.
Officer Zakaria’s training and cool head in a crisis saved this person’s life.
