Security officer attacked in the line of duty.
As some of you may know, this past weekend, security guard Harmandeep Kaur, working on the Okanagan campus of UBC was attacked while on duty, and died of her injuries in hospital a few hours later. A suspect has been arrested, but additional details have not been released.
We wanted to take this opportunity to express our heartfelt condolences to the family and friends of the security guard who was killed.
This tragedy is a stark reminder that security officers are working hard every day to ensure that the rest of us can be safer. Unfortunately, those brave individuals who keep us safe are sometimes putting their own safety in danger. We would also like to thank every security professional for their commitment to protecting their communities.
