Lifesaving, effective teamwork

In October 2025, a team of security guards responded swiftly to an emergency in a parking garage, following reports of an individual experiencing a seizure.

Upon arrival at the scene, the security guards discovered a person in a vehicle who was unresponsive, with no pulse, and not breathing. Acting decisively, the team immediately removed the individual from the vehicle, initiated CPR, and deployed an AED (automated external defibrillator). Following the AED’s instructions, two shocks were administered, and approximately eight rounds of chest compressions were performed.

The team’s quick thinking, composure under pressure, and effective teamwork sustained life until Toronto Fire Services and Toronto Paramedics arrived on scene to assume care. The individual was transported to the hospital, initially unresponsive but was later successfully revived.

The actions of these guards exemplify professionalism, courage and dedication to public safety. Their immediate intervention and adherence to life-saving protocols directly contributed to saving a life.

Thank you!
