Lifesaving first aid after a machete attack
Late one evening, Security Guard Nelson Climie was on duty at a site in Edmonton, when he heard an individual who seemed to be in trouble.
He immediately ran to the streetcorner adjacent to the site, where he discovered a man who’d been brutally attacked and was clearly suffering from life-threatening injuries. It was later discovered that the man had been attacked by an assailant with a large, bladed instrument, believed to be a machete.
Security Guards Qaileigh Gordon and Raphael Olabisi, also on duty with Climie, also attended the scene and provided first aid to the man until Edmonton Fire & Rescue arrived. Observers described the scene as something similar to a horror movie, with more blood than they’d ever seen “outside a blood bank”. Fire & Rescue later told the team that Climie, Gordon and Olabisi had saved the man’s life with their quick response and effective first aid.
Thank you!
