Commitment to lifesaving CPR
While on a regular shift, Security Guard Kareena Rani responded to a call about a woman who had passed out in the washroom on the second floor of the facility.
Upon arriving at the scene, Rani found the woman unresponsive with blue lips, indicating an overdose. Unable to call for backup, Rani asked the facility cleaners to request additional help and, with their assistance, immediately removed the woman from the toilet.
Rani laid the woman flat on the floor and began performing CPR, as instructed by the 911 dispatcher, and continued CPR for about 10 minutes until paramedics arrived. Despite the woman vomiting during the process, Rani stayed focused on helping to keep the woman alive. When paramedics arrived, they were able to revive the woman, who later confirmed using heroin.
Paramedics thanked Rani for her efforts in saving the woman’s life.
We thank you, too, Security Guard Rani!
