Prompt response at a Toronto hospital
Security Officer Akshit Puri discovered a man in medical distress outside a Toronto hospital, and immediately made a stat call for a Code Blue.
Attending the scene immediately, Security Officer Danyal Butt realized the man was in cardiac arrest and began to administer CPR, which he continued until EMS arrived.
Officer Puri then began to assist in flagging down paramedics and the fire department to get the man into the emergency department as soon as possible. He also stayed with the man’s partner and ensured they were cared for and brough to the appropriate emergency room.
Based on conversations with the clinical staff in the emergency department, they have expressed that Officer Puri’s and Butt’s actions bought the man precious minutes, playing a significant part in saving his life.
