CPR, chest compressions and diligence saved a life
In December 2023, Security Guard Kaleba Wabisa observed an unknown male lying on the ground and attended to him immediately, initially assuming he was deceased, and radioed Security Supervisor Ivon Charles-Currency for assistance.
While 911 was contacted by the team, Wabisa and Charles-Currency realized the man was unconscious, not deceased, and immediately began administering CPR even though they had trouble finding a pulse. Chest compressions were initiated while waiting for EMS to arrive.
Emergency services arrived and the man was transferred to a stretcher and taken to the hospital, whereupon they told Security Guard Wabisa and Security Supervisor Charles-Currency that they’d done a great job and likely saved the man’s life.
Thank you, Kaleba and Ivon!
