Deborah Payette Named Q3 2024 CSLA Winner

Recognized for her lifesaving response following a serious streetcar accident

Deborah Payette has been recognized as a Q3 2024 Canadian Security Lifesaver Award winner for her actions during a serious emergency in downtown Toronto.

While off duty, Payette witnessed a pedestrian being struck by a streetcar. Recognizing the seriousness of the situation, she immediately stepped forward to assist.

Drawing on her experience as a security supervisor and her first-aid training, Payette provided assistance during the critical moments following the collision and helped manage the situation until emergency responders could take over.

Her actions demonstrate that the commitment to protecting others extends beyond the workplace. When faced with an unexpected emergency, Payette relied on her training, experience and willingness to act when someone needed help.
